HOW CLEAR ALIGNERS STRAIGHTEN TEETH

Clear aligners work by gently shifting your teeth over time. The digitally printed trays are worn for about two weeks, and then you replace them with the next pair in your orthodontic series. Gradually and systematically, your teeth are brought into alignment.

You’ll want to plan on wearing your aligners for at least 20-22 hours a day at minimum. However, they will need to be removed during meals or while snacking, in addition to when you brush and floss. When worn as directed, you will notice your teeth shifting and aligning according to the treatment plan. The clear aligners provide a constant, gentle pressure that encourages your teeth to move, so there’s no need to have wires adjusted or braces “tightened,” as you might see with traditional orthodontic methods.

  • Initial Consultation

    Your journey to a straighter smile begins with an initial consultation with one of our dentists. During this appointment, we will discuss your goals, assess your oral health, take a series of scans or X-rays, and determine if clear aligners are the right choice for you.

  • Customized Treatment Plan
    If clear aligners are recommended, we will create a personalized treatment plan that provides a clear understanding of the treatment timeline and what you can expect. We will also review pricing options, insurance benefits, and flexible payment installments.
  • Aligner Fittings
    Once you’re ready to begin treatment, we will use impressions or digital scans of your teeth to create your custom aligners. These aligners will be provided to you in batches, so that you can wear each set of trays as prescribed.
  • Intermittent Follow-ups
    Throughout your treatment, we will schedule periodic check-ins to monitor your progress and make any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan.
  • After your clear aligner treatment is complete, we will also fit you with transparent retainers that will help preserve your new bite alignment.
