Chia Wu, DMD, is a holistic, cosmetic, and implant dentist at Urbandale Smiles, providing complete oral health care to people of all ages living in and around Urbandale, Iowa, and throughout Polk and Dallas Counties.

Dr. Wu brings more than 12 years of dental experience to the practice. She began her professional pursuits at the Temple University Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, earning her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry. There, Dr. Wu received extensive clinical training to deliver high-quality family dentistry.

Before entering private practice, Dr. Wu completed a general practice residency at New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital in Queens, New York. She also received certification in the Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique (SMART) from the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology in Championsgate, Florida. In fact, Dr. Wu is one of the only SMART-certified dentists in Iowa. Dr. Wu owned and operated a general dentistry practice in Arizona for several years before deciding to relocate to Iowa. She takes a holistic and patient-centered approach to treatment, helping patients with all facets of their oral health through restorative, cosmetic, and sleep dentistry.

When Dr. Wu isn’t meeting with patients or developing custom treatment plans, she enjoys listening to audiobooks and cooking. Dr. Wu is also a proud dog mom to two papillons named Buddy and Tino. She welcomes any individual or family seeking improved oral health to Urbandale Smiles today.
